Established in 1997
by Hanna Nussbaum – who launched the company with a single
range of frames – Orange Eyewear now offers a comprehensive
range of niche frame collections exclusively to independent opticians.
Based in Manchester, the company is renowned
for its keen eye for spotting those ranges that will allow independent
opticians
to differentiate their product offerings in the face of mounting
pressure from the multiples. Often working in close partnership
with opticians, Orange Eyewear provides expert, incisive advice
on maximising commercial opportunities with frames that will
continue to attract patients.
2005 has been an exciting year at Orange
Eyewear with the launch of the Holeman’s luxury collection and the Betty Barclay
ophthalmic and sunglass ranges. Both have been extremely well
received by independent opticians and consumers alike. Indeed,
thanks to Orange Eyewear, the UK is now the world’s top
selling country for Betty Barclay outside Germany, the brand’s
home.
About the Directors
Managing Director and founder of Orange Eyewear,
Hanna Nussbaum, qualified as a dental hygienist in 1984 and enjoyed
a successful career before moving on when she discovered her
innate commercial flair. Hanna is renowned for her effervescent
personality, sheer drive and instinctive feel for choosing eye-catchingly
stylish frames.
Financial Director, Jeremy Nussbaum, graduated from the London
School of Economics and qualified as a chartered accountant with
KPMG. He joined Granada Television in 1991, and since 1998 has
gained further business experience as the Commercial Director
for a family owned licensed toy company. Jeremy helped Hanna
to form Orange Eyewear in 1997 and joined the company on a full-time
basis in January 2004.
